What to look for from the ground after high winds, and when to call a roofer.
Check from the ground
Look for slates or tiles on the ground, gaps in the roof, a leaning chimney, lifted lead or gutters pulled away from the wall.
Check inside
Look in the loft for daylight or wet insulation, and check ceilings for new stains.
Record everything
Take photos for your insurer before anything is moved, where it's safe to do so.
